The 7 Best Social Media Accounts to follow as a Student

As students, we are always on the look out for the best deals and discounts there are on food, drinks, accommodation and clothes. One of the best ways to find these deals is through social media. Here is my comprehensive guide to ensure you are following all the best accounts out there.

1. Accommodation for Students

The best account to follow, right? If you aren’t already following us on social media you are missing out. Our new Tik Tok page features city guides which can be useful when choosing where to move to university or perhaps where to visit during your breaks as well as some fun and trending content. If you are looking for more detailed information and guides, subscribe to our YouTube channel which shares tips and advice on finding your student property, how to choose who to live with and how to sort out your bills. You can also find us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook as well which will keep you in the loop with everything going on in the student world.

2. Save the Student

Save the Student is an extremely useful account to follow if you are looking to save money. Each day, they post some of the best deals out there such as how to get a free Greggs or save money at some of your favourite retailers. It is also worth joining their exclusive Facebook group to get access to the latest deals quicker than anyone else. Like many others, they have also joined the Tik Tok hype to produce entertaining student-based content and heir blog provides useful information about bills, jobs as a student and exams; definitely worth the follow.

3. Unidays and Student Beans

These two platforms provide students with the best discounts out there. Both are available as a website or app and are free for students to download. However, their social media platforms are essential for following as they both frequently run giveaways and share the latest discounts first. You can also sign up to be a Student Beans content creator to help produce the content they share across their platforms as well as on your own.

5. Your University’s social media accounts

Probably one of the most important social media accounts to follow are your university’s. Not only do they share general information about the university, but they are often one of the first places to check for updates on COVID information, UCU Strikes and anything else which may impact your teaching. It is also useful to see what has been going on at your university and any upcoming events. Make sure to also follow your university’s student union accounts too- these will share information regarding societies, their own projects and events.

6. The Tab

If you are nosy like me and want to know what’s going on in other students’ lives or if you are looking for great memes then The Tab is an account you need to follow. The student based and run newspaper is available online and has subdivisions across multiple UK unis. However, to keep up to date with the latest articles being published you will want to follow their socials. They also post some hilarious memes which always provide a laugh between study sessions.

7. The Body Coach

Gym memberships can be expensive and not always feasible on a student budget, but The Body Coach is here to solve that problem. Joe Wicks shares useful and free workouts and recipe ideas across his social media platforms. Many of you will remember PE with Joe being a success during the pandemic and that doesn’t have to stop now! His YouTube channel is an excellent source for workout guides to keep fit and healthy and it is FREE! It is really worth checking it out as it is important to have a balanced diet and fitness regime as a student, even if you don’t get up until midday.
